How do works of art reinforce conventional gender roles? And how can they confront these myths? In the face of #metoo, gender inequity, heterosexism and cisgender privilege, how can museums make a difference?
Drawn from the University Art Gallery collection, this exhibition brings together works from the 17th century to the present that engage with shifting cultural norms of gender. This Is Not Idealalso features new works by local contemporary artists Katie Ott and Adam Milner.
