Arthur Batut (1846-1918)

BiographyArthur Batut was a French photographer, known as a pioneer of aerial photography, alongside photographer Nadar. In 1890 he published "La photographie aérienne par cerf-volant", in which appeared his pictures taken from a kite. Earlier, he published "La photographie appliquée à la production du type d'une famille, d'une tribu ou d'une race" in 1887, highly influenced by the research and writings of Sir Francis Galton.
